Shopian family claims their kin among slain militants of Kupwara gunfight | KNO

Srinagar, Apr 07 (KNO): A family from South Kashmir's Shopian district has approached police claiming that their kin is among five militants killed in Keran, Kupwara gunfight that ended on Monday. Family of Sajad Ahmad Hurrah, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Hurrah, a resident of Daramdora, Shopian told wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that Sajad was missing since April 2018 and he is one among the five militants killed in Kupwara gunfight. They said they were at Kupwara from last four days and were demanding his body for last rites but Police told them that the slain have not been identified yet. Police officials said that they will conduct the DNA tests to prove family’s claims. “A family from south Kashmir have identified their kin on photos that have went viral on social media,” a police source told KNO. Officials in Kupwara said that they have taken DNA samples and bodies will handed over to families if DNA will match—(KNO)
